In second life, you can find people who run the gamut from doing fantastic, impossible (in RL) things to those who settle for the more mundane, rarely breaking out of a RL styled existence aside from the obvious teleports and flying sprees. This time I talk to various notable citizens to find out what’s their idea of sensible and crazy in a virtual world where anything is possible. Do they want to inject the real into the unreal, or the other way around?

On the dream house thing… Hey! I live in one of them. Nika does a fantastic job with it… Its cool and its her thing (mine too now). I used to feel like “what the hell are these people thinking”. Its fun to make a realistic home in SL and since she started doing this she has launched a successful blog about second life homes. I hate Standing around dancing for hours or build shit that looks like last nights corn filled dinner but I respect the idiots who do it!

Radar | August 18, 2008Hey, Keeme.. I don’t remember what I said that you think I thought you think I thought SL is a game. Holy crap, that’s confusing. I didn’t take it that way.. i don’t think!
Nika does do a good job with the house - a great job, actually. It’s cool that she’s branched that into a blog. See, that’s where it goes beyond something that’s possible in RL as she becomes an expert in the SL niche of homes and home furnishings. That’s the kind of thing I think you were talking about in SL where someone really gets into something deep and constructively. I agree. And that’s why I get surprised when someone like her gets a really focused, really good blog going or something like “Going Broke” comes along with a lot of great focused information about SL fashion, because it’s something that would never have occurred to me.
BTW, I do make shit that looks like last night’s corn filled dinner myself, but wth. What else am I gonna do? I can’t podcast worth a damn
